STEUBENVILLE EAST COINFERENCE The Steubenville East Youth Conference is an opportunity for the teens in our community to engage with the Catholic faith and allow Jesus to change their lives. Steubenville East will take place at the UMass Lowell campus (Lowell, MA) on 7/13/18 7/15/18. Steubenville East gathers teens together from all over the New England area to experience the lifegiving nature of relationships with Jesus and others. There will be music, games, and activities that allow teens to learn about the Catholic faith and their role in the world around them. These conferences take place around the country, and we are fortunate that one is hosted so close to Reading! Please come to our 1 hour information meeting on Mar 12 at 7pm in the Parish center.

Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 pm
The Light is On for You every Wednesday during Lent. A great opportunity to reconcile yourself to our merciful Lord before the great day of Easter
Adoration with Confessions & Rosary
Stations of the Cross with Benediction Fridays 6:30-7:30 pm
Thursdays 6:30 - 7:30 pm
(Note: Mar 23rd will be our Parish Penance Service) Of all the Lenten devotions, Stations and Benediction are the most deeply rooted in what Lent is about. Each Friday of Lent you are invited to walk the “Via Dolorosa” with Our Lord and worship Him at the foot of the Cross as his Blessed Mother and the Beloved Disciple did. .
As the Catechism teaches, Adoration is homage of the human soul to the King of Glory and respectful silence in the presence of the ever greater God. Eucharistic Adoration is an extension of Mass and serves to deepen our hunger for Communion with Christ and the rest of the Church. Ladies Sodality will be present to lead the Rosary.

March 4 ~ Third Sunday of Lent Today’s Gospel gives us a picture of Jesus that may make us uncomfortable. Jesus knew well the wrongs and injustices that were prevalent in some temple practices. Let us remember the wrath of Jesus against those who made it difficult, if not impossible, for people to be welcome in the house of God. As we strive to become better at being evangelizing parishes, is there anything about our church/parish life--a snobbishness, an exclusiveness, a coldness, a lack of welcome --which might keep the seeking stranger away? Lent gives us a good opportunity to make the necessary changes to those behaviors.
