Music Ministry News
Lent is here. It's time to think about the music ministry and its role during our journey to the cross. There are many opportunities - singing, playing an instrument, percussion, etc. We need many voices during Lent and Holy Week. If you have questions, please talk to any choir director or email Margaret Simmons, Music Coordinator, at [email protected].

Young Adults Group: This Monday, March 6th, we’ll talk about sin. Next Monday, March 13th, we’ll attend the first night of our parish mission. If you’d like to receive weekly email updates, please contact John Barrientes. Remember to follow us on Facebook! Adult Faith Formation: Come join us during Lent as we rediscover an old form of prayer and Scripture reading called Lectio Divina. On the Sundays of Lent we will be meeting in the Chapel, right after Food Fellowship— between the 8:30 am and 11:30 am Masses. We will be learning to pray the Scriptures using Lectio Divina—a time honored Catholic practice. Join us this Sunday, March 5th, and for the following Sundays of Lent. Bring your own Bible, or use one of ours. Call John Ostrom (907.244.1260) or John Streit (907.350.1722) if you have any questions. Lenten Parish Missions: We will be offering two Lenten Parish Missions this year. Deacon Glenn Harmon will lead the first Misson March 13th to the 15th, and Deacon Steve Olmstead will lead the second Mission March 27th to the 29th. All sessions will begin at 7pm in the church. The second Mission will conclude with our Lenten Reconciliation Service on Wednesday, March 29th, at 7pm. Please join us for one or both Missions as we journey through this holy season. Our Cloister Doors: At any time you may have access to The Cloister for prayer and reflection. Please call the parish office or ask a parish staff member for the after hours access code to the doors. Seekers Group Is Meeting: Do you have questions about the Catholic Faith? Know someone who does, and may not yet be ready for the RCIA process? Our parish Seekers Group may be just right for you! The Seekers Group is an informal gathering for discussion of what it means to be Catholic. Please call the parish office at 337-1538 for more information. Please join us and invite a friend!

Adult Confirmation Class:   If you are an active adult Catholic who has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, Deacon Mick will be presenting a six week course to prepare you to receive this sacrament at the Easter Vigil.   The six week series of classes will begin this Sunday,   March 5, and run for the following five Sundays after the 5:00pm Mass from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  If you are interested, please call the Parish Office to pre-register. Parents - planning on attending Deacon Glenn Harmon’s Parish Mission March 13th - 15th? We would like to offer childcare during the mission time. If you would like to have childcare while attending the mission please email [email protected] or sign up on the table in the foyer noting the number of children for childcare and their ages. Questions? contact Caroline @ [email protected] or 337-1538 x34 THANK YOU! Parish Mission Child Care Providers Needed: We would like to provide child care for the parents in our community who are planning to attend our Parish Mission by Deacon Glenn Harmon. The dates and time needed are Monday 3/13, Tuesday 3/14, and Wednesday 3/15 from 6:45pm - 8:45pm. Please email Caroline at [email protected] or sign up on the table in the foyer if you are interested in volunteering. THANK YOU!

Rehearsals are important. Rehearsals for Holy Week begin this week. Please mark your calendar. All the music ministry info will be in the bulletin each week. There will be a sign up sheet on a clipboard near the organ.

If you are not an active choir member, you can still sing with us during Holy Week. Just sign up and show up at the rehearsals.

Let's fill all those choir chairs! Let all the angels sing; let us glorify the Lord! We always have time for fellowship with those who share our love of music and want to help create an atmosphere of prayer for the congregation. Now is the time to join us, now is the time to share your love, now is the time for God.

Please take a look, and please also take 10% off of the price listed on the book or periodical. This is a great opportunity to enjoy some spiritual reading at a reduced cost. Young Families Adoration: There is a new opportunity blossoming at St. Pat's for those with babies/toddlers/ children who still praise God with their voices and movement. While we know, intellectually, that we are welcome to be a full participant in all activities at St. Pat's, some folks with young families may feel uncomfortable joining in the quieter and more solemn events. Here's where the Young Families Adoration hour comes in! Every second Thursday of the month, from 6-7pm, Adoration will be a welcoming space specific for those with the wiggles and giggles. No commitments are necessary and you certainly don't need to feel obligated to stay the entire hour if that's not in the cards for your family. Come enjoy a safe place to pass on the beauty of Adoration!
