Counselor’s Corner During guidance this month, we are learning the importance of being BUCKET FILLERS! Everyone carries around an invisible bucket and the words and actions of others either fill up our buckets or dip from them. Inviting someone to play or giving them a compliment fills their bucket, but leaving them out or calling them names dips from their bucket. Full buckets equal happy people, but empty buckets make us feel sad. We are encouraging BUCKET FILLING at Allen and you can do the same at home! If your child does something mean to their sibling, you can ask if they are being a bucket filler or dipper? If they are dipping, ask what they can do to fill up their sibling’s bucket instead. If you want to check out this book and many others, please visit our Parent Center during Parent/Teacher conferences or any other time you would like. Thanks!

Please remind your child to check lost & found for missing jackets, coats, and other items.

Allergy Tips We are starting to see allergy symptoms in a lot of our children this time of year. Symptoms include watery, itchy, burning eyes, runny nose, headaches, and sneezing. These symptoms are commonly just an annoyance. However, symptoms can be severe. Your doctor may be able to assist in finding a medication that can help for seasonal allergy relief. You are welcome to bring medication here for me (school nurse) to dispense. As always, if your child is sick, it is best to keep them home and let them rest. We love our kids here at Allen Elementary and our goal is to keep them healthy, happy, and always learning. Nurse McWhorter
