Questions Parents Can Use to Assess Understanding  What is a reciprocal?  How do you add and subtract fractions with unlike denominator?  How do you divide fractions using pictures?  If you were making a recipe and it called for cup of sugar and you only had a ¼-cup measuring cup, what would you do?  Why would you need to understand how to multiply a fraction times a fraction?
