Mathematics (BS) Offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Arts and Sciences.
Admission to the Program Formal admission to the major requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and departmental approval. Students who wish to obtain credentials for teaching grade 7-12 mathematics may take a 36-credit hour second major. Students must have a 3.00 grade point average to be admitted to the second major in secondary education. Combined BS in Mathematics and MA in Mathematics American University offers students the opportunity to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees through its combined bachelor’s/master’s programs.
