Stewardship Focus Every week amazing things happen in and through the life and ministries of White Plains UMC. This week we received a letter of thanksgiving for a donation that our congregation made to help a family with the cost of craniofacial surgery for their 9year-old daughter. They commented, “Your gift has helped us move forward with the preparation for the surgery. We are overwhelmed at your gift for Rachel. Words cannot ever express our thanks… Your gift has touched us deeply.”

Today is Church on the Street Sunday! This service will be followed by a churchwide lunch and the opportunity for everyone to help with Rise Against Hunger, formerly Stop Hunger Now. The Prayer Team is organizing a Bible Reading in the Sanctuary on Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2. We will be reading from the New Testament in the Sanctuary on both days from 8am to 8pm. Once again, we are asking folks to sign up for 15-minute slots through the two days.

The next senior adult outing is on July 11 to the cool IMAX theater at Marbles in Raleigh to see “Panda” followed by lunch at the Cafe Luna. The bus will depart the church parking lot at 11am. Tickets to IMAX are $5.00 and lunch is on your own.
