The Board recognized the Cibolo Valley ES selects Tigers as mascot following student repre- and school colors sentatives for the month of SCUCISD board trustees approved the recMay: ommendation of Tigers as the mascot for the

new Cibolo Valley ES, scheduled to open in August. In addition, the board approved the colors of Navy Blue, Columbia Blue & Silver for the campus. The recommendation, according to principal Veronica Goldhorn, came from a committee comprised of students from various elementary schools at SCUCISD, parents and community members.

Trustees Approve Purchases of needed items for new Cibolo Elizabeth Leland, a 12th Valley ES & Steele HS grader from Byron P. Trustees approved the purchase and contract for installation of Steele, II High School. items for the new Cibolo Valley ES. Authorization was given to pro-

vide and install classroom speakers and interactive projectors at the new campus. In addition, trustees also approved the purchase of equipment for the new Fieldhouse at Steele HS as well as cafeteria furniture.

May 2015, cont. Board Honorees Over 70 students at Samuel Clemens HS & Byron P. Steele, II HS were honored during the May 21, 2015 regular called meeting. Among those honored, (shown clockwise from left): state athletic qualifiers at Clemens HS; State Athletic Qualifiers at Steele HS; members of the Cibolo FFA from Clemens & Steele HS; and the Elementary & Secondary Teachers of the Year, as well as the KENS 5 ExCEL Award winner & Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching nominees.
