MUSLIMAHS ON A MISSION We aim to encourage Muslim women to achieve their highest potential in all careers, life stages, and paths, and to expand the image of Muslim women as a positive force in improving their environments, and to demonstrate the value of diversity while holding on to one’s identity.
Mu Delta Alpha was established in 2014 as "Muslimahs for Change" by Samira Maddox and her friends from Collin College. As the first Muslim sorority in the United States, we first planted our seeds at the grand alpha chapter at University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. We are finally seeing our efforts come to fruition, as our family has now grown to our beta chapter at THE DAILY PEEP
University of Texas at Austin and our gamma chapter in Denton, Texas, which is a joint venture between University of North Texas and Texas Women's University. We are driven by our core values of professionalism, mutual support, and diversity, and we hope to apply Islamic values and follow Sunnah as we grow professionally and personally.

Rush Week 2017
RUSH WEEK HIGHLIGHTS WELCOME TO THE SISTERHOOD, PLEDGES! WE'RE SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU!
ALPHA | UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS The Grand Alpha Chapter Rush Week had a great turnout and, in whole, brought great attention to MDA at University of Texas at Dallas. We had immense interest from potential girls that wanted to be recruited at the two informational sessions. The girls enjoyed their time relaxing at the Lovejack and tie-dying teal colored shirts, where they got a chance to meet many of the members while participating in a calm activity during the stressful exam week. On Thursday, the girls got a chance to meet more girls and loosen up at a fun-filled game night at a sister’s house with games like charades and karaoke. On Friday, the potential recruits put on their best professional appearance to meet with the executive committee and describe why they would like to be a part of MDA and what they could bring to it. Finally, after receiving their acceptance letters on Saturday, the new recruits placed a bid on the current members. On Sunday, we had a wonderful time at a formal dinner, revealing the big and little pairs and enjoying delicious food!
BETA | UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Rush Week at The University of Texas at Austin’s Beta Chapter began on September 8th with our first info session. We had a total of four info sessions spanning Monday and Tuesday, followed by two social events on Wednesday and Thursday. Our first social was at an in ice cream shop and our second was a relaxation event where girls participated in activities like coloring, creating hand scrubs, and diffuser bracelets while enjoying relaxing fragrances, soft music, and refreshments. Interviews were held on Friday and our Alpha class was introduced at our Bid Brunch on Sunday morning! We are so excited to have selected our Alpha Class and had such a successful First Rush!
GAMMA | UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS & TEXAS WOMEN'S UNIVERSITY MDA Denton kicked off Rush Week with two mandatory info sessions. We had a game night the following night; everyone got a chance to know each other and we played Jenga, Uno, and more! We had a social night at the UNT Union the next day, where we did leadership exercises so that we could bond with each other as we worked together. Our activities included sorting M&M's by color, building marshmallow sculptures (allowing the girls to express their creativity), and a hula hoop game! After conducting interviews on Friday, September 22nd, we concluded Rush Week with our Bid Brunch, where girls were given a chance to take their headshots and were given certificates celebrating their acceptance into the sisterhood!
