COLORADO MENTAL HEALTH CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS MAY 2017* *Note: These are general education and clinical supervision hour requirements only. There are additional specific requirements that must be met and these may be found in the statutes (Mental Health Practice Act), rules and applications for each profession. Acronym definitions are noted at the bottom of this table. For licenses: All requirements, exam, and post degree supervised experience hours must be completed within five (5) years before or after the date an application is received in the Division. For registration: All requirements must be completed within one (1) year after date of application. For certifications: All requirements must be completed within one (1) year after date of application. The five (5) year time limit does not apply to the work experience hours for any level of addiction counselor. Regulatory Board/Profession
