Su mundo no tenía días tristes ni noches frías hasta que dos dictadores irrumpen arruinando su vida personal y social. El hogar paterno de Olivia, fundado en arraigadas tradiciones se tambalea cuando el hermano mayor entra en la lucha contra Batista y muere en combate. Entonces, la hermana menor, poseída de un puro idealismo puro cae seducida por el comunismo de la mano de su novio, llegando a consentir los desmanes que comete la revolución: confiscación de las propiedades de la familia y fusilamiento de su tío materno. Es entonces que la trama se enreda y el ánimo y las perspectiva de Olivia cambian en el mismo sentido que el resto del pueblo.
