HISTORY: Old Port-a-Ferry was originally built by Andrew
Black as a two-story log house in pre-Civil War 1846. The house was expanded in 1878 with the date marked in the basement entry. The property was purchased by George Maxwell and named Port-a-Ferry Farm in 1932. In the 1930s, the breezeway and study were added, incorporating the summer kitchen. The farmhouse underwent major renovations beginning in 2005 with the addition of copper roofing, modern furnace and air conditioning. The chimneys were rebuilt in 2010 and the house and grounds have been meticulously maintained to date. MLS#539672 $685,000
