The Unusual nature of David’s Tabernacle A. David’s Tabernacle is the first earthly expression of God’s governmental order on earth. B. “David’s Tabernacle” is a very specific type of prayer, also referred to in the Bible as the New Song, which is a reference to its prophetic and musical nature. C. Not all prayer is the same, for example: i. Binding and loosing ii. Agreement iii. Praise and worship iv. Silent prayer v. Soaking prayer

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— D. Different times call for an emphasis on different types of prayer. We must come to God on HIS terms, not our own. He has a timetable that is very important to Him. Our agreement with the time is required or we must deal with the consequences: Genesis 4:2-8 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. E. Grain and produce sacrifices had a place in God’s design, but Cain offered what made sense to himself, and what was easiest for him to offer, rather than what God required. F. The end times, or return of Jesus with His government, REQUIRES what will seem like a very unusual plan:

Isaiah 28:21-29 For the LORD will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon-- That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act. Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth. Give ear and hear my voice, Listen and hear my speech. Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods? When he has leveled its surface, Does he not sow the black cummin And scatter the cummin, Plant the wheat in rows, The barley in the appointed place, And the spelt in its place? For He instructs him in right judgment, His God teaches him. For the black cummin is not threshed with a threshing sledge, Nor is a cartwheel rolled over the cummin; But the black cummin is beaten out with a stick, And the cummin with a rod. Bread flour must be ground; Therefore he

does not thresh it forever, Break it with his cartwheel, Or crush it with his horsemen. This also comes from the LORD of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. G. David’s Tabernacle style prayer is what Jesus is “rebuilding” in the end times:

Amos 9:9-11 "For surely I will command, And will sift the house of Israel among all nations, As grain is sifted in a sieve; Yet not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground. All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, Who say, 'The calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.' "On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;

H. Day and night prayer, or David’s Tabernacle, is the ONLY kind of prayer specified as NECESSARY in the end times:

Luke 18:7-8 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" I.

Studying Jesus’ plans and David’s Tabernacle makes the “unusual act” the Bible describes very wise and simple. Those who study it will avoid a LOT of trouble:

Isaiah 28:9-14 "Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little." For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, "This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest," And, "This is the refreshing"; Yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was to them, "Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little," That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught. Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scornful men, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem, II.

David’s Tabernacle is modeled on the Government of God A. Unlike the governments of the earth that require submission, God’s government is based on voluntary submission rooted in desire. We call this worship. Worship is the highest expression of desire.

Revelation 4:8-11 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

B. God’s Government is entirely based in worship, or prayer to music. i. Throughout the Bible we see people and angles presenting themselves to God before His throne, and God releasing His purpose to them:

Job 1:6-12 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it." Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!" And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. ii.

This is why Satan wants worship, he desires to usurp God, which would require getting the worship of creation:

Luke 4:5-8 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours." And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND HIM ONLY YOU SHALL SERVE.' " iii.

God’s government has been musical since the moment He began creating the earth:

Job 38:1-7 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: "Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? C. David modeled his government based on the worship, or kingdom rule, that is happening in heaven:

1 Chronicles 25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals. And the number of the skilled men performing their service was:

1 Chronicles 25:7-8 So the number of them, with their brethren who were instructed in the songs of the LORD, all who were skillful, was two hundred and eighty-eight. And they cast lots for their duty, the small as well as the great, the teacher with the student. 1 Chronicles 9:33 These are the singers, heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites, who lodged in the chambers, and were free from other duties; for they were employed in that work day and night. III.

David’s Tabernacle is INTENTIONAL and Resisted by Satan A. No one can really do David’s Tabernacle accidentally, because it requires a sifting of desire. David’s Tabernacle is only sustainable in a community of people who commit to the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle

Psalms 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. B. Satan wars against David’s Tabernacle THROUGH people. Eventually the antichrist will call David’s Tabernacle, or God’s Government, evil and kill Christians to keep them from it for 3.5 years, called the Great Tribulation:

Revelation 13:5-7 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. C. David’s Tabernacle, or the Key David used to unlock heaven on earth, will not succumb to the same pressure as the rest of the Church:

Revelation 3:7-13 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "HE WHO HAS THE KEY OF DAVID, HE WHO OPENS AND NO ONE SHUTS, AND SHUTS AND NO ONE OPENS": "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie-indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '

Because David’s Tabernacle is prophesied by Jesus, intentional, resisted, and powerful for keeping our communities safe, it is important that we identify what is, and what IS NOT, “David’s Tabernacle.” E. There are seven MUST HAVES that I (this is not necessarily an exhaustive list) identify as necessary to qualify as David’s Tabernacle. Over the next couple of months, we will unfold each of these must haves: i. Must occur in a central community location ii. Must be ordered in the authority structure of God’s government iii. Must be prophetic prayer and song iv. Must be antiphonal…cannot be done alone v. Must be centered on Israel vi. Must be musical vii. Must be family oriented…turning the hearts of children to fathers and fathers to children IV.

Central Community Location A. God’s Throne operates in night and day community B. Satan even goes there, day and night…

Revelation 12:10-11 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. C. Jesus is where 2 or 3 are gathered together

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." D. We are encouraged to go before the throne TOGETHER

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. E. Satan wars against us meeting together, which must happen MORE as Jesus’ return nears.

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. F. Wherever people gather together, is where we will see the RESULTS of David’s Tabernacle manifest  Joel 2 Harvest Pattern  Vs. 1-10 describe the antichrist army rising up  Vs. 11-17 describe the response of God’s people (gathering together in one location, for one purpose, which is David’s Tabernacle)  Vs. 17-27 describe what God will do in the geographic location with relation to: o War/peace o Provision o Protection from the environment o Reputation  Vs. 18-32 describe the partnership (pouring out of the spirit) on those in THAT geographic location that agrees with God. G. This is the government of God superimposing on a geographic area. God’s government is good. God’s government is Philadelphia…brotherly love!

Daniel 2:31-35 "You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image's head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. Daniel 2:44-45 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold--the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure."
