Materials: -Lace Weight Mohair yarn (25grams/ 200+ yds) -Size 5 steel hook
Gauge: 8dc = 1 inch Link = ch3, dc in third ch from hook Starting at the neckline: Ch2 never counts as the first dc 1: Crochet eight links, ch2 (does not count as first dc), six dc in each link across, ch2, turn. 48 dc 2: (Dc in next three dc, two dc in next dc) across, ch2 turn. 60 dc 3: This is the armhole row. Dc in next nine dc, ch5, skip 12 dc, dc in next 18 dc, ch5, skip 12 dc, dc in last nine dc, ch2, turn. 4: Dc in each dc and ch across, ch2, turn. 46 dc 5: Dc in each dc across, ch1. Turn the work so you are working up one side of the front of the sweater. Work two sc in the end of each row to the last row at the top of the sweater; in this row work three sc, ch1 Turn the work so you are working across the neck edge of the sweater; work four sc in each link across, ch1, 32 sc Turn the work so you are working down the other side of the front of the sweater; work three sc in the end of the first row, and two sc in the end of the following rows, ch1 Turn the work so you are working across the bottom of the sweater; work (sc, ch1) in each dc across, join to the first sc. Fasten off. At this point you can leave the sweater as-is for a vest or add sleeves. Following are instructions for a 3/4 length sleeve.
3/4 Length Sleeves: 1: Join with a sc in the last ch of the underarm at the underarm side; (sc, hdc) in the side of the next dc, dc in each dc across the top of the armhole, (hdc, sc) in the side of the next dc, and sc in the last four ch under the armhole; join to the first sc, ch2 2-3: Dc in each st around, join to the top of the first dc, ch2. At the end of round 3 ch1. 4: (Sc, ch1) in each dc around. Join to the top of first sc and fasten off.
