In class we’ve been discussing the importance of the cell cycle. Mitosis is extremely important to ensure the integrity of the genetic information stored in the chromosomes. It is the DNA molecule that makes the mitosis process complicated and very important. Weighted 20 points Using textbook, class, and internet resources, you are to assemble a model of a eukaryotic cell going through the cell cycle. In particular, you must show the detail of the chromosomes being carefully placed into daughter cells. The model may be constructed out of available materials at home or it can be a digital representation. Here are the following requirements:  Model should NOT simply be the four stages of mitosis on a poster, but a manipulation of chromosomes and should be interactive o Constructed models; users must move (manipulate) the chromosomes through the phases on the model o Digital models; ANIMATION shows the paths of chromosomes moving from frame to frame Figure 1 This is NOT a poster. It's a  Two chromosomes – two colors; the model must be able model of mitosis. See the requirements! to show that the cell contains two different chromosomes  Chromosomes; following interphase, chromosomes must appear with two chromatids  A narrative needs to accompany the model to explain what is occurring at each step in the process  Cytokinesis must be depicted at the end of mitosis
