WILLIAM WALTON MOGAN CLASS OF 1962

Born in Minnesota, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force upon graduation. He served in the Air Proving Ground Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida for four years. He then spent one year at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Arlington, Virginia before leaving active duty as a Captain in 1967. As a civilian, he worked at Honeywell as a Marketing Director and in 1975 was made the Division Marketing Development Manger. In 1977, he became the Vice President of Marketing at Talley Defense Systems retiring in 2000. During this period he also served as the President of National Defense Industrialization Association of Arizona. Mr. Mogan was also a writer and the author of Sons of Slum and Gravy, a personal story of his path to West Point, and the experiences there and after graduation that caused him to develop a deep and abiding respect and affection for his classmates. He died on October 31, 2006.
