GETTING ON THE BUS
Back pack belongs on your back Get on the bus one at a time No pushing, no shoving If you drop anything and it goes under the bus do NOT go underneath the bus to get it. ALWAYS tell your bus driver. Hold on to the hand rail Sit 2 or 3 to a seat High school ONLY may sit at the back of the bus
GETTING OFF THE BUS Stay seated until the bus stops and the door opens Back pack belongs on your back No pushing, no shoving Hold on to the hand rail If you drop anything and it goes under the bus do NOT go underneath the bus to get it. ALWAYS tell your bus driver. Walk 10 feet away from the bus
RIDING THE BUS Obey the driver at all times Sit 2 or 3 to a seat Sit seat-to-seat, back-to-back, feet on the floor Stay in your seat until you get to school in the morning or your bus stop in the afternoon Your belongings should be in your back pack Keep back pack in your lap NO eating or drinking Keep your hands to yourself Voice level should be a 0 (silent), a 1 (whisper) or a 2 (partner) Do not throw anything in or out of the bus Keep your hands and head inside the bus at all times Headphones are required to play music or video games unless the sound is turned OFF Taking video or photos is prohibited Be courteous Do not use profane language
NOT ALLOWED:
Alcohol Drugs Smoking Weapons Glass Sharp objects Skateboards or snowboards Skis or ski poles Hockey or Lacrosse sticks Anything larger than lap size Anything that could become a projectile in the event of an accident
SCHOOL BUS INCIDENT A School Bus Incident Report will be completed for a student who fails to follow the bus rules An Incident Report may result in the student being suspended from all buses
TYPE OF INCIDENT Improper loading/unloading procedure Failure to obey rules for bus conduct Failure to remain seated Failure to follow the driver’s instructions Spitting/littering Rude/discourteous/disrespectful Throwing objects in or out of bus Inappropriate language and/or conversations Lighting matches/smoking Fighting/pushing/tripping/hitting Destruction of property/vandalism Tampering with bus equipment Harassment Other behavior relating to the safety of others
FOR PARENTS MORNING DROP OFF Please remember that the posted departure time is when the bus will leave the bus stop Arrive 5 minutes early Stand 10 feet away from the road All items must be in a back pack or be small enough to fit in student’s lap Once the bus door has closed and the bus has begun to move the driver will not stop to pick up students who are late
