Sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the webinar will feature recommendations by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and free tools that can assist clinicians in providing preventive care. KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the end of the Web conference, participants will: Understand the science behind the USPSTF recommendations Understand the steps taken and opportunities for public comment in the recommendation process. Recognize the benefits of using the USPSTF recommendations to help combat the prevalence of diabetes in the Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) community. Learn how to nominate new topics for the USPSTF recommendation process, including Hepatitis B. Understand how USPSTF recommendations can be integrated into clinical workflow using AHRQ’s free electronic Preventive Services Selector (ePSS) tool. Understand how to incorporate the recommendations at a small, rural, critical access hospital. Know what preventive services are covered by Medicare as a result of the Affordable Care Act. The webinar is part of an ongoing outreach project by AHRQ, and its contractor, the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET), to assist health professions educators, clinicians, and the next generation of caregivers in implementing the evidence-based recommendations of the USPSTF (www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org).
