Kind attention is invited to the minutes of the PNM meeting of NFIR held with the Railway Board on 08ft/09eOctober2015 on the subjectmatter. The Running Staff have been bitterly complaining againstAdministration's inaction in ensuringair-conditioning of Running Rooms which are locatedin the regionswheretemperature risesabove40 degrees. In view of hot conditions prevailing in different regions in the country, the Railway Ministry should admit the inadequacyof resting facilities prevailing at presentdue to non-airconditioning of Running Rooms locatedat placeswhere the temperaturelevel goes40oor above. This issuein fact deservesto be dealt on priority as safe and efficient running of trains depends upon the alertnessand concentrationlevels of staff who are requiredto be provided comfortable resting facilities. NFIR, therefore,requeststhe Railway Board to kindly approve for air-conditioning,the , selectedRunning Rooms in the regions where temperaturerises above40'. If the Railway Board is reluctantto concedethe demandprobably on the plea of financial implications,the Federation urgesthat a meeting with Hon'ble MR be arrangedsoon to enablethe Federationto explain the logic and need for air-conditioningof Running Rooms.
