SACRED HEART SCHOOL MEAL CHARGE POLICY AND PROCEDURES Sacred Heart School participates in the National School Lunch Program sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) which permits the school system to offer free and reduced priced meals to students who qualify. Due to reporting requirements, the child nutrition program cannot permit excessive and recurring charges of meals. Customers may, however, pay for meals in advance. Families who wish to apply for free or reduced meals must complete an application each year. An adult family member of any Sacred Heart School student may submit an application at any time during the school year. Application forms are found at: yanktonsacredheartschool.org site, under “Parents”…”Forms”. Applications are also available at both Sacred Heart Middle School and Sacred Heart Elementary School. Applicants are responsible for any meals purchased until a qualifying application is completed and approved. Students and staff at Sacred Heart School may pre-pay for school meals. Meals can be pre-paid daily, weekly, monthly or even annually. Money can be deposited directly at the school. Low balance notification will be done by sending a deposit envelope home with students who have a negative or less than $10.00 balance. Deposit envelopes can be returned to the schools with a check or cash. Sacred Heart School students will not be denied a reimbursable meal. If a student has a negative account balance and parents are struggling to make payments, or if you have any questions concerning the school child nutrition program, call Sherry Rockne, at 665-5841.
