Healthy Active Living at Nelson focuses on teaching games for understanding. We offer the traditional Phys-Ed courses which are anything but traditional! Our courses promote being healthy and active for life by developing basic movement skills that are transferable to any sport or activity. Our PE staff love what they do and that equates to fun, for all students, regardless of athletic ability.
Love the outdoors and non-traditional activities? Then this class is for you! Biking, orienteering, rock climbing, and dragon boating, are just a few of the exciting activities which await you here in Outdoor Education. Students learn all about team work and the great outdoors which culminates in a canoe & camping trip in Algonquin Park.
In this course, students learn how to develop a personalized approach to wellness and vitality by focusing on personal fitness, healthy eating, mental well-being and healthy relationships. Students engage in a variety of activities in the community which serve as resources for them now and in their future. Learn how to find your passion for living a healthy and active life!
Do you want to take your fitness to the next level? This course provides students with the opportunity to learn how to train and exercise at a variety of levels and with a variety of methods. On top of using our state of the art facility, students also have access to specialized trainers and facilities throughout the city.
