Nevada FFA Booster Club Scholarship FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS:  Must have applied for and received the State Farmer Degree OR must have earned 80% of the total of the high senior point holder’s point value by April 30th of the current year. o Point value for fundraising will be capped at the chapter requirement.  Must have maintained at least a 2.0 accumulative GPA  Must be pursuing a post-secondary degree or certification  Must complete the application form and turn in to NRTC by April 15th of current school year  Scholarship amounts will vary based on availability of funds and number of qualified applicants, and student involvement in FFA activities. Please provide the following information typed and attached to this application. 1. List Ag Classes you have taken through NRTC and indicate years enrolled. 2. Describe what FFA events you helped work and/or organize during the past 2 years. Specifically describe how you personally contributed to the success of that event. 3. List other FFA activities you have participated in and any offices held during the past 2 years. 4. Describe FFA fair projects and SAE projects completed. 5. List other school activities (other than Nevada FFA) including awards received, offices held, etc. 6. List community or volunteer activities. 7. List work experience, either agriculture related experience or other job experience. Include plans for summer employment. 8. Write a brief essay explaining why you should be a recipient of the Nevada FFA Booster Club Scholarship. Include your plans for further education, anticipated major, and your career goals. FOR CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENTS:        

Must have applied for or received the State Farmer Degree Must submit a 250-word essay explaining how FFA has impacted you, also include your current plans for further education, current major, and career goals. Must provide a motivational talk during a class at NRTC during the current year Must have maintained at least a 2.5 accumulative GPA Must be pursuing an Ag related degree Must complete the application form and turn in to NRTC by April 15 of current school year College students must provide a copy of your transcript for GPA verification when applying. Scholarship amounts will be based on availability of funds and number of qualified applicants.

Selected recipients will receive a scholarship – amount will be divided between first semester and second semester. All recipients must provide proof of enrollment. College recipients must also provide verification that they have declared an agriculture major for each semester. Proof of enrollment must be turned into the Nevada FFA Booster Club Treasurer at the beginning of each semester. Information must be received by November 1 for first semester payment and by March 1 for second semester payment. If information for the semester is not received by the respective date, payment for that semester is forfeited. This Scholarship may only be received twice per student. Once as a High School Senior and once as a College Student. Recipient must be in good standing with the Nevada FFA Chapter as well as with their college administration. This scholarship is only available to Nevada High School graduates. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN APRIL 15 OF THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR IN THE COUNSELORS OFFICE AT NRTC.
