Mississauga Ontario Canada Fall 2012 PPG Program helps companies identify alternative solutions for their waste while cutting costs! The City of Mississauga is pleased to lend support to a new program for Mississauga businesses launched by Partners in Project Green (PPG). The By-Product Materials Exchange Program will be delivered by PPG in association with Region of Peel, City of Brampton, City of Mississauga and the University of Waterloo. The program was developed in recognition of a lack of understanding surrounding existing solid waste management systems in the industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) sector, as well as of the techniques used to track, reduce and ultimately divert waste. Partners in Project Green hopes the program will help companies find solutions for problematic wastes and establish successful and lasting waste exchange relationships for companies. This voluntary program will facilitate material and energy exchanges between companies in the Pearson Eco-Business Zone in order to add value, reduce costs and improve the environment.

Partners in Project Green has begun the first phase of the program to establish a preliminary group of companies in the manufacturing, waste management, construction and infrastructure sectors. Participating companies will provide selected waste data that will be entered into an online tool to identify potential waste synergies. Once potential synergies are identified, companies will be connected to their prospective partners to discuss feasibility and negotiate terms. Waste data provided will be used solely for the purposes of the By-Product Exchange Program and in aggregate to inform Partners in Project Green about waste related programming. If your company is committed to sustainability and the potential for waste synergies, and would like to participate in the first phase of this program, contact Yiyi Shangguan, at [email protected] or 416-661-6600 ext 5595 partnersinprojectgreen.com
