National Peace Corps Association Membership Data Sharing Terms and Agreement NPCA will share membership data once per calendar year per requesting member group according to the following terms: 1.

Recipient: NPCA data will be given only to the following: a.

An officer with approved administrative access to the NPCA database for a current NPCA member group in good standing; or

b.

An official representative of a newly-forming member group that has submitted a preliminary affiliation application with the intent to complete membership within the next six months.

Procedures: Data will be shared according to the following procedures: a.

Recipient must use reasonable care to protect the security and confidentiality of the data.

b.

Data may not be sold, transferred or used by a third party.

c.

Data is for use only for communications approved by the list provider.

d.

Data may not be used for political or controversial purposes.

e.

For any emailing, all emailed addresses will be concealed (e.g. BCC) so that addresses are not visible to others and cannot be harvested.

f.

The approved group officer designated below must login to the NPCA database to extract the data. Data can be downloaded from the NPCA website in an Excel format.

g.

Member groups and NPCA will give their members an opportunity to opt out of sharing their names and contact information and will honor any such opt out requests. Both entities must respect these requests by omitting those records from any data sharing.

h.

Those who misuse data will be subject to review and possible sanctions, including removal of access to database information.

Data: The following rules govern the data to be shared: a.

Data shared includes the following information as available: full name, country of service, years of service, home mailing address, email address, phone number, fax number and spouse/partner name.

b.

Country of Service member groups will receive data only for returned Peace Corps Volunteers or staff who served in that member group’s country (or countries) of service.

c.

Geographic member groups will receive data only for returned Peace Corps Volunteers or staff within the state or zip code range covered by their member group, as appropriate.

Reciprocity a.

NPCA reserves the right, within one year after supplying its data to member group, to request that member group supply NPCA with the names and similar contact information of individual members with a Peace Corps connection who are not then currently members of NPCA. NPCA's use of that data shall be governed by the same terms applicable to the affiliate's use of NPCA data.

b.

Groups in the formative stage must share their group data with NPCA when they submit their final membership application.
