New tool allows library catalog access NEWTON—Now you can access the Catawba County Library System website from your Smartphone, thanks to a recent upgrade to the library’s home page.
LS2Mobile is accessible with an iPod Touch or iPhone. With the web tool, users can access the library catalog from any location. The web address is http://www.catawbacountync.gov/library .
According to Regina Reitzel, information services library in Newton, the new capability is free and available to library customers who use these Apple products. “This new tool allows customers to search for titles, place a hold on an item, renew items or check your library account status,” Reitzel said. “With a few clicks you can have your library in your back pocket.”
The county system serves more than 82,000 registered users. The system operates in seven locations: Newton, Conover, Claremont, Maiden, St. Stephens, Sherrills Ford and Southwest (Mountain View). Library news is regularly posted on both Facebook and Twitter.
