‘Vegas Protest 4 Truth’ Rally Cry Set for Sat. Feb 24 Retired Lawman & Former Journalist Lead Effort for Full Openness (LAS VEGAS, NEVADA) – A former journalist from Omaha and retired Miami lawman are in Nevada spearheading a Saturday, Feb. 24 protest on Public sidewalks outside the Las Vegas Metro Police HQ’s from 10 am - 4 pm at 400 S. Martin L. King Blvd. The rally cry calls for full Government transparency, disclosure and accountability pertaining to the Oct. 1 mass shooting investigation. “We are the voices for the fallen, grieving survivors and America. We intend to peacefully protest to send a message to Vegas police, and local/federal government officials. The Public has a right to know,” said Susan Stern, group co-founder, and former journalist. The protest calls for full records disclosure: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6)
hotel (s) surveillance, CCTV and police body cams; 911 dispatch phone call/police audio/transcripts; an estimated 14 unsealed affidavits; ballistic reports; physical evidence like blood stain pattern analysis; and, shooting incident reconstruction diagrams.
Govt’s lack of openness in this case is to blame for triggering widespread internet speculation. The ongoing Govt challenges to Freedom of Information Act lawsuits news organizations filed also raise concerns. The Courts, for the most part, have favorably ruled for Public records disclosure. “The secrecy is insane. Investigators appear to be hiding something. Cell phone video evidence and eyewitness statements conflict with Clark County Sheriff Lombardo’s story. The “narrative” does not add up,” emphasized Joe Martin, group co-founder, and retired police officer. Protest participants plan to remind Govt officials they have a duty to disclose.
