  We​ ​are​ ​excited​ ​to​ ​announce​ ​that​ ​we​ ​have​ ​invited the​ ​Burlington​ ​Taiko​ ​Group​ ​to​ ​lead​ ​our​ ​students​ ​in a​ ​2-week​ ​intensive​ ​artist-in-residency,​ ​December 8-22,​ ​2017!​ ​During​ ​the​ ​residency,​ ​students​ ​will​ ​be treated​ ​to​ ​a​ ​performance​ ​by​ ​members​ ​of​ ​the Burlington​ ​Taiko​ ​Group,​ ​learn​ ​about​ ​the​ ​history​ ​of

     

 

    Taiko,​ ​have​ ​the​ ​opportunity​ ​to​ ​play​ ​on​ ​the​ ​drums, learn​ ​a​ ​piece​ ​themselves,​ ​and​ ​finally,​ ​share​ ​what they​ ​learned​ ​with​ ​parents​ ​and​ ​the​ ​community​ ​in​ ​a school-wide​ ​assembly.​ ​All​ ​students​ ​grades​ ​Pre-K-6 will​ ​participate. PTO​ ​is​ ​hosting​ ​a​ ​Donuts​ ​for​ ​Dad​ ​on​ ​December 8th​ ​from​ ​8:00​ ​a.m.​ ​until​ ​8:45​ ​a.m.

Muffins​ ​for​ ​Mom​ ​will​ ​be​ ​held​ ​January​ ​26​ ​from 8:00​ ​a.m.​ ​until​ ​8:45​ ​a.m. Basketball​ ​News:    We​ ​are​ ​ready​ ​to​ ​start​ ​the​ ​3/4​ ​and​ ​5/6​ ​practices  after​ ​Thanksgiving,​ ​for​ ​the​ ​most​ ​part!   3/4​ ​Girls​ ​will​ ​be​ ​coached​ ​by​ ​Brandon​ ​Pecor​ ​and  Lauren​ ​Gould.  3/4​ ​Boys​ ​will​ ​be​ ​coached​ ​by​ ​John​ ​Bond​ ​and  someone​ ​else...could​ ​this​ ​someone​ ​else​ ​be​ ​you?  5/6​ ​Girls​ ​will​ ​be​ ​coached​ ​by​ ​Rob​ ​Meehan,​ ​with  assistance​ ​from​ ​Chris​ ​Blackburn.  5/6​ ​Boy's​ ​is​ ​still​ ​in​ ​need​ ​of​ ​someone​ ​stepping​ ​up​ ​to  be​ ​the​ ​lead!​ ​We​ ​have​ ​Amy​ ​Harris​ ​who​ ​can​ ​help​ ​on  Mondays,​ ​Sorsha​ ​Anderson​ ​who​ ​can​ ​help​ ​on  Wednesdays​ ​in​ ​December​ ​only,​ ​and​ ​a​ ​couple​ ​of  maybes....we​ ​need​ ​someone​ ​to​ ​step​ ​up​ ​and​ ​be​ ​the  lead​ ​for​ ​this​ ​team!!!!  k-2​ ​Boys​ ​and​ ​Girls...we​ ​only​ ​have​ ​one​ ​volunteer​ ​so  far,​ ​Scott​ ​Gurley.​ ​We​ ​need​ ​a​ ​couple​ ​more  volunteers​ ​for​ ​this​ ​Sat.​ ​a.m.,​ ​9-10​ ​commitment.​ ​We  plan​ ​to​ ​start​ ​this​ ​as​ ​soon​ ​as​ ​the​ ​coaches​ ​are​ ​willing  and​ ​able...usually​ ​in​ ​early​ ​January    We​ ​plan​ ​to​ ​get​ ​new​ ​27.5"​ ​balls​ ​for​ ​k-4;​ ​these​ ​balls  will​ ​be​ ​used​ ​in​ ​all​ ​district​ ​games.​ ​If​ ​you​ ​are​ ​able​ ​to  contribute​ ​to​ ​the​ ​purchasing​ ​of​ ​these​ ​($275​ ​total),  please​ ​send​ ​in​ ​a​ ​contribution​ ​to​ ​Rumney​ ​(ck.​ ​memo  -​ ​new​ ​basketballs).    I​ ​would​ ​love​ ​to​ ​purchase​ ​a​ ​new​ ​set​ ​of​ ​jerseys​ ​to  supplement​ ​what​ ​we​ ​have.​ ​We​ ​are​ ​looking​ ​at​ ​at  least​ ​a​ ​$500​ ​price​ ​tag​ ​for​ ​these.​ ​If​ ​you​ ​would​ ​like​ ​to  contribute​ ​to​ ​this​ ​cause,​ ​it​ ​would​ ​be​ ​greatly  appreciated​ ​(You​ ​can​ ​send​ ​in​ ​a​ ​ck.​ ​with​ ​the​ ​memo​ ​-  new​ ​jerseys).     Your​ ​coaches​ ​will​ ​have​ ​your​ ​names​ ​and​ ​emails,​ ​and  they​ ​will​ ​be​ ​contacting​ ​you​ ​in​ ​the​ ​near​ ​future​ ​to  discuss​ ​practice​ ​start​ ​dates,​ ​times​ ​and  expectations.     Thank​ ​you!​ ​ ​Paul​ ​Dayton
