NHS & CS DRIVING SCHOOL POLICIES FOR DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS As a student of the Natick High School Driver Education Program, you agree to the following policies and understand the following rules:  Your age on the first day of the Classroom Session is 15 years, 9 months or older.  You understand there are no refunds after you begin the Classroom Session or Behind-the-Wheel Instruction.  In order to become eligible to receive a Driver Education Certificate of Completion from the Registry of Motor Vehicles, you must complete the following requirements:

 30 hours of Classroom Instruction, 12 hours Behind-the-Wheel Instruction, 6 hours Observation, 2-hour Parent Class and 40 hours of driving with a parent or guardian or someone at least 21 years old with a valid license and at least 1 year of driving experience.

 If you miss a class for any reason, you must make-up the missed class in a subsequent month. If you do not attend the makeup class, you will not be eligible to pass the course. Tardiness and/or early departure from any session will count as an absence.

 The CS Instructor has authority to release a student from the program who is disruptive. No refund will be allowed.  You understand it will take a minimum of 6 months to complete the Driver Ed program.  You understand that the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles requires a student to hold their Learner’s Permit for 6 months and successfully complete all components of the Driver Education Program in order to become eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion and take a Road Test to obtain a License. Because of this requirement, CS’ Behind-the-Wheel policy allows students to schedule one (1) driving hour every 13 days. This system has proven to be successful as it allows students to complete their 12 required driving hours close to their eligibility date. It also provides the time required by parents, between lessons, to complete their 40 hours of driving with their teen .

 I have read CS Driving School’s Terms of Service located at www.csdriving.com under ‘Resources and FAQs. Class Rules and Restrictions Accelerated Classes: There are (5) six-hour classes that make up the (30) hours of required classroom. Each numbered class (1-5) has focused topics allowing the student to make-up that specific class in another corresponding session. Classroom Final Exam: Each student must pass the course with no less than a score of 80%. Students are required to have a properly maintained notebook; pass periodic quizzes given at the Instructor’s discretion and pass a Final Exam on the last day of class. A student failing the Exam will be able to take it a second time and parents will be notified. Students with more than three (3) missed classes will not be permitted to take the Final Exam. Registration is mandatory for all make-up classes. Call CS Driving School to reserve your seat. All classes must reach the minimum enrollment of 8 students (1) week prior to the sessions start date or the class will be cancelled.

Fees Paid to the RMV (Checks made payable to MassDOT)

 Permit $30: This will be paid to the RMV the day of the permit exam.  License Fee $50 / Road Test Fee $35: These fees can be paid the day of the permit test (recommended) or any time after the permit has been issued online www.mass/gov/rmv. This fee must be paid before students receive a license.

 Driver Education Certificate $15: This will be paid when all components of the Driver Education Program are complete. Once complete, the check should be made payable to MassDOT and sent to CS Driving School. Students under 18 will not be able to schedule a road test until the certificate has been issued.

Cancellation Policies for Behind-the-Wheel Lessons If for any reason you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, 24-hour notice is required for cancellation for all BTW Instruction. If less than 24-hour notice is received, we must assess a $60 Cancellation Fee. You can conveniently cancel an appointment online through your student portal, call CS Driving School at (781) 891-0460 during business hours (voicemails will be accepted as proper cancellation) or send an email to [email protected]. Students cannot be issued a Certificate of Completion if they hold an outstanding balance. A student will be charged a $60 Cancellation Fee for the following reasons (if a 24-hour notice is not received):  If student does not have their original permit in their possession.  If student does not have their glasses or contacts in their possession.  If student changes their pickup and drop off location with less than 24-hour notice of change.  If student is more than 10 minutes late for their driving lesson.  If student does not appear for a scheduled driving lesson (no-show). CS Driving School and Natick High School are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property when in a Natick High School Classroom or CS Driving School Vehicle.
