NON-FICTION BOOK PROJECT

Points: 50 Requirements: Writing must be computer printed. Pease edit and re-edit your writing so it is free of misspellings, run-on sentences/fragments, awkward phrasings, etc. Proofread your final draft for accidental omissions or typographical errors before putting the writing on the cube.

Specifications: Chapter 1 Illustrated page with author and title. You may want to do a mini-collage or an illustration using colored pencils, pens, watercolors, etc. It needs to relate, of course, to your book. Chapter 2 Biography poem (follow model on back) or write an original poem with a minimum of 20 lines. To rhyme or not to rhyme is your decision, but Chapter 3 Facts sheet. Chapter 4 Discuss the major conflicts, struggles or obstacles presented in the book. How were they resolved? If they were not, explain why. Chapter 5 Retell the one story (anecdote) that vividly stands out in your own words. You may add specific quotations from the book, but be sure to put those words in quotation marks. Chapter 6 Personal opinion paragraphs. Examples: “I do/do not admire this person…” Support with reasons. “ I would/would not recommend this book…” Support with reasons. “I would/would not have enjoyed participating in the events in the book, knowing the people, etc. Why, why not?
