Comments/Critical Evaluation: (include review sources here) Kirkus Reviews starred, 02/15/16 School Library Journal, 02/01/16 Booklist (February 15, 2016 (Online)) Simple sentences and colorful illustrations are throughout this book making the work enjoyable for a variety of readers. The illustrations are mixed-media with drawings, collage and sketches using may different patterns. This is a sweet, simple story about a girl and her grandpa. Annotation: (brief statement about the theme or scope of the work) The book is about a girl and her grandpa. He has a trunk with keepsakes from his travels and the girl decides to take grandpa on an adventure for his birthday. She plans out the trip, draws a map and sets off with grandpa on a streetcar. They take a photo of the dinner and add it to the trunk when they arrive back home. There is a surprise party waiting for grandpa.
