-- NOTICE -YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT THE BOARD OF STATE CANVASSERS WILL CONDUCT A HEARING ON AUGUST 27, 2012 AT 12:00 P.M. IN ROOM 426 OF THE STATE CAPITOL BUILDING, LANSING, MICmGAN. Included on the Agenda will be: -

Consideration of meeting minutes for approval.

Canvass and certification of the August 7, 2012 primary election.

Consideration of the initiative petition filed by Michigan Alliance for Prosperity, 222 W. Genesee, Lansing, Michigan 48933.

Consideration of the initiative petition filed by The People Should Decide, 12225 Stephens Road, Warren, Michigan 48089.

Discussion of assignment of ballot designations to statewide ballot proposals qualified to appear on the November 6, 2012 general election ballot. Determination of ballot wording for the statewide proposals identified below: STAND UP FOR DEMOCRACY: Referendum of Public Act 4 of2011, the Local Government and School District Fiscal Accountability Act. MICHIGAN ENERGY, MICmGAN JOBS: Proposed constitutional amendment to require utilities to obtain at least 25% of their electricity from clean renewable energy sources. CITIZENS FOR AFFORDABLE QUALITY HOME CARE: Proposed constitutional amendment to establish the Michigan Quality Home Council, provide certain information to consumers, require training of providers, and provide collective bargaining rights. MICHIGAN ALLIANCE FOR PROSPERITY: Proposed constitutional amendment to prohibit the imposition of new or additional taxes or expansion of the base of taxation by the State of Michigan unless certain conditions are met. THE PEOPLE SHOULD DECIDE: Proposed constitutional amendment to require a vote of the people before the State of Michigan can construct or finance new international bridges or tunnels for motor vehicles.
