For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me… Despite improvements in the economy, there are still many struggling to find employment and to feed their families. The Reading Food Pantry continues to assist more local families than before the recession. Last year, Catholic Charities helped more than 4,500 families with emergency food and is seeing more need this year. Please donate Market Basket or Stop and Shop gift cards in denominations of $5 - $15 to assist families using the Reading Food Pantry and Catholic Charities’ services. A collection box is in the back of the church to accept donations for the next few weeks. Thank you!

Christmas Faire Raffle Tickets
The Christmas Faire Needs Your Help
We are not mailing Christmas Faire Raffle tickets (as we have done in the past), Christmas Faire Raffle tickets will now be available after all the Masses November 12 & 13. Ticket sheets can be picked up at the table in the back of church along with a return addressed envelope. You can return your filled out tickets and money in the return envelope at your convenience by either mailing it to the church office, dropping off at the church office or placing in box in the back of church labeled “ Faire Raffle”. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Grand Prize is $500, Second Prize is $250, and Third Prize is $100. Drawing will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. during the Christmas Faire. Winner need not be present.
The Faire committee is once again asking the St. Athanasius community for help to make the Christmas Faire a success. Donating is an easy way to support the Christmas Faire, especially if you are unable to attend the Faire. On behalf of the 2016 Christmas Faire Committee, thank you in advance for your support. Calling All Bakers The Faire Bakery and Lunch Area would love to sell your cakes, cookies, cupcakes, bars and any other cherished recipe you’d love to make. There is an increased need for baked goods for the Faire Bakery and the Lunch Area. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of church. You can also visit the parish website and there is a link to Sign-Up Genius for the Bake Sale. Also you can email Michele Barrette at
[email protected] and let her know if you can bake. Following health code regulations all baked goods must include a list of all ingredients. Baked goods received without the ingredients listed cannot be sold. Also all baked goods must be packaged in clear plastic wrap, bags or containers. For cookies, bars and other small baked goods, please package for individual sale.
Join us for Eucharistic Adoration at St. Athanasius Every Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm With Confession
Christmas Faire Volunteers Needed It is hard to believe another Christmas Faire is around the corner. This year the Faire is Friday November 18th, 5 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, November 19th, 10 am to 2 pm.
Another Way To Help The Lunch Area is asking for help with donations of cases of water (16.9 oz size bottles only) and cases of specifically Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. Donations can be put in the back of church after all masses during the month of November. Donations are being accepted thru Wednesday, Nov 16.
The Faire Committee has been working since August to make sure this year's Faire is a big success. Now we need your help. We are in need of many volunteers beginning the Sunday prior to the Faire (starting November 13th after the 8th grade class) and thru the week to help with set up. Then during the Faire much help is needed in many areas to ensure it runs smoothly.
Ornament Raffle New this year we are offering chances on picking a lucky ornament from the Christmas Tree. Every ornament is a winner! Prizes will range from $5 and up. The committee is looking for donations a gift cards valued at $5 or $10 for this new game. Do you have a favorite gift shop or candy shop? Maybe a card from a grocery store or a pizza place that you frequent? Anything goes! Gift Cards can be placed in the box marked “Ornament Raffle” in the back of church or dropped off at the church office.
We would love to have you join us. If you can help, please follow the volunteer sign-up link below: This is mandatory community service hours for Confirmation 1 & 2 students. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080845AAAB2CA31christmas 5
