EJHS Fall Gir ls' Soccer Review The girls?soccer season is over and now it is time to catch you up. The team consisted of Lydia Albright, Courtney McGrew, Janessa McIntyre, Marina and Ashley Messner, Taylor Mentzer, Catlyn Hubiak, Claire Scholl, Loran Baures, Alyssa Himmelreich, Ella Gerhart, Sofia Runkle, Gabby Smith, Makayla Painter, Diana Gill, Casey Kane, Aimee Oswald, Nola Gautierih, Ally Rotch, Alana, Grace Moore and Amber Hebber. Also, the people who made this all happen were Coach Charlie Messner, Coach Mike Lee, and Coach Milt. I interviewed Courtney Mcgrew in 7th grade in Mrs.Walter 's Class. Courtney played on both varsity and Jr. varsity. She mostly played left mid or wing, but she played other positions as well. She said their best game was against Reading with a score of 13-1 and their worst was against Daniel Boone a score of 1-2. They won 11 games and lost 2 out of a 13 game season. She described the season as fun, exciting, and suspenseful. So to recap the season it was an awesome season overall with great players.

Mr. Flamm, Principal of EJHS Interview 1. What is your favorite sport to watch? I like to watch most sports but my favorites are college football and basketball (especially March Madness). A. Do you have a favorite sport team? Penn State football and all of the Philly pro teams. 2. Do you have any pets? If so, how many? Two dogs, a Pug/ Jack Russell mix and an adopted Lhasa Apso/ Poodle. 3. Were you a teacher before you became a principal? A. If so, where and what did you teach? I taught high school English, Journalism, and Speech at Eastern Lebanon County (2 years) and at Reading High (9 years). 4. Why did you become a teacher and/or principal? Both of my parents were educators and they had a big influence on me, and I really enjoy working with students and teachers. 5. What is your favorite part of being a principal? My favorite part of being a principal is seeing kids succeed, especially if they had struggled in the past or had to overcome adversity. I like attending high school commencement each year to watch graduates get their diplomas and to see their sense of accomplishment. 6. If you could be anything else (meaning occupation) what would you do? I?d like to host Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network because I love to travel and eat.

7. Where did you go to college? A. What did you like most about college? I

went to Kutztown University. Believe it or not one of the things I liked most was taking Speech classes with Professor Milton Kern. He was an awesome teacher. That and being able to schedule afternoon classes. 8. What is your favorite type of music?

This is a tough question because I have a little bit of everything on my phone. What I?m listening to depends on my mood and what I?m doing at the time. 9. How do you feel about students learning with the chromebooks? Chromebooks are great when they make learning interactive. They put tons of information at our fingertips, and I love to see students use their Chromebooks to explore and create original products.

10. As a principal, what are concerns you have regarding social media and students? I have real concerns when social media is used inappropriately, especially when it is used to cyberbully. Too often students don?t understand the significant consequences that their posts can have on themselves and others, which is why we include this topic in Olweus lessons and in some of our classes.
