Price per course: $55 for 30 recertification hours OR $215 for 2 graduate credits from Colorado State University Online
These project and standards-based courses, include seven online sessions. An instructor trained and certified by EdTech Leaders Online facilitates each course, using a learning model that combines readings, videos, activities, and facilitated peer-to-peer collaborative discussions. The focal point of the sessions is online discussion and collaboration, where you can share your ideas, comments, products, and questions with your classmates.

North TIER Partnership Course Information Fourteen Northern Virginia School Systems, Germanna Community College, and EdTech Leaders Online (ETLO) form the North TIER Partnership, a unique non-profit. The partnership aims to provide professional development directly related to technology integration. North TIER is a 509 (a)2 organization.
Course Information: Courses run from February 5 to March 26, 2018 (The first week is an orientation.) Course instructions, including where and how to login, is e-mailed to you when the course begins.
Course fees are due before the course begins. North TIER does not charge fees to those that drop before the end of registration. We offer 90% refund for those dropping during the drop period, which is from the end of registration until 7 days after initial notification from your instructor. There is no refund after the drop period.
Participants do not need to be online at a certain time of the day, nor a set time each week, for most courses. Class participants must log in to the system at multiple points during the course week, complete the activities, and participate in the discussion board and activities. North TIER courses are not self-directed.
Participants can expect to spend at least 4-6 hours each week completing class activities. Earn Graduate Credits North TIER is working with Colorado State University to provide a graduate credit for most courses. This optional track requires completion of all work and discussion, plus an additional graduate-level reflection paper. The graduate credit option is $160 extra, per course. You will be able to register for the graduate credit option during the first week of class. *Spanish for Educators courses are not available for graduate credit. Students process and remember images much faster than words. Today’s learners live and play in a visually rich environment. Come explore digital image sites and learn to use the most essen al features of digital cameras, including your phone. Google Apps in the Classroom: Basic Part 1

The Google Apps in the Classroom Basic Part 1 course will develop an understanding of and foster crea ve uses for Google Apps including: Drive, Calendar, Gmail, Classroom, Forms, Sheets, Docs, and Drawing. Throughout the course, par cipants will explore how to use these apps. to foster communica on, enhance engagement, and deepen collabora on with and among students. Con nue your Google Apps journey with this more advanced course for those that have some Google Apps experience or took the Google Apps in the Classroom Basic Part 1 course. This course will cover add‐ons, connec ng other Google apps to your Drive, Google sites, and a help you develop a deeper understanding of YouTube’s educa onal outreach. These tools and skills will allow you to enhance the collabora on and crea vity of your students, while your introduc on to Google Plus and Hangouts will develop your Personal Learning Network and expand your student communica on op ons. Continue your Google Apps journey with this more advanced course for those that have Google Apps experience, or took the Google Apps in the Classroom Basic Courses. This course will cover add-ons, connecting other google apps to your Drive, and a deep understanding of YouTube. SPRING 2018 COURSES Project Based Approaches to Instructional Design Appropriate for: Teachers (all levels), Administrators, College Instructor | Technology Experience Level: Beginner
In this course par cipants will explore the characteris cs, benefits and best prac ces of Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum design. Throughout the course, par cipants will reflect on instruc onal prac ce as they explore the fundamentals of PBL through Intel Online Learning Modules, readings, and videos focused on curriculum and instruc on. Par cipants will explore ways technology is leveraged to engage and deepen learning within this instruc onal approach. The course will culminate with par cipants developing an exci ng and rigorous project to implement in their classroom.
New for 2018 Spanish for Educators has been an extremely popular course. Based upon the feedback from participants, North TIER is dividing the course in half, 1A and 1B. The Spanish for Educators - 1A course is intended for those having limited Spanish language skills, Participants gain an understanding the alphabet, and some limited vocabulary, such as the ability to greet students, use numbers, and making requests. Spanish for Educators - 1B assumes a basic understanding of the above. Participants covers skills in giving directions, dealing with encounters in the cafeteria, with families, illness, athletics, and conferences. - Please do not sign up for Part A and B simultaneously.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an approach to teaching, learning, the development of curriculum, and assessment that draws on research and tools to meet the needs of every learner. As participants learn about Universal Design, they will have an opportunity to reflect on their own work as a teacher and be provided the opportunity to expand their understanding of UDL in their classroom or school. The course will cover 21st century tools that easily adapt to meet the needs of diverse learners, digital texts, and how to locate resources. Learners will discuss tools currently available in the K-12 classroom and review the importance of all literacies.
