GSM BASED WIRELESS DIGITAL NOTICE BOARD Group Members: Ananya Maiti, Tuhin Bhattacharjee, Subham Ghosh Santanu Sahana, Soumyadip Ghosh Abstract: Everything is going to be digital in our world. Even our Prime Minister has launched the campaign of “Digital India” a couple of weeks ago and we shall like to present our idea which is in league with this campaign. So, we thought of the project “GSM BASED WIRELESS DIGITAL NOTICE BOARD” and want to implement it.

How it can be implemented? SMS based Electronic Notice board using GSM modem has an Alphanumeric Display. It can be used to display informative messages, notice, or any announcements. These messages can be displayed/changed by sending SMS from our mobile. It can also be accessed from PC. GSM based wireless notice board will display the message in rolling manner which is sent by user. Old messages will automatically get deleted after a certain amount of time. Various important blocks of system are: 1) Microcontroller 2) GSM modem 3)Alphanumeric Display

What is Special about it? The specialty of this project is that by making it digital and wireless we can save both time and energy. Less man power is needed and printing cost can also be eliminated. So by use of GSM, we can take communication to a next level.

Where it can be applied? The notice boards are nowadays the major communication medium for mass media in offices, colleges and many other organizations. So in those places the wireless digital notice board can be very helpful and by making a little modification in it, it can have applications in vast areas.

Wireless Reconnaissance & Wi-Fi Network Jamming Via Aircrack Suite Running in Arch Linux Implemented Over an ARM Based Board Group Members: Ananya Maiti, Tuhin Bhattacharjee, Subham Ghosh Santanu Sahana, Soumyadip Ghosh Abstract: The project will involve passive reconnaissance of wireless networks in an area using a wireless adapter connected to an ARM based development board. The scanning of nearby wireless networks will be facilitated via the Aircrack suite running in Arch Linux which in turn will allow jamming of specific wireless networks identified by their ESSID. It will also facilitate MITM (Man in the Middle) & DOS (Denial of Service) attacks & Brute Force Dictionary based password cracking attacks over a wireless network.

How it can be implemented? The implementation involves loading of Arch Linux into a memory card along with the Boot loader and then choosing a suitable ARM based board to run it. The Aircrack suite will then be installed onto the Linux which will facilitate wireless reconnaissance & Wi-Fi network jamming. The aircrack-ng, airodump-ng commands will help in achieving this along with a wireless network adapter supporting packet-injection. An LCD display will be connected with the ARM based board to show the available wireless networks and to show further details such as their ESSID, BSSID, Channel and so on. Dictionary based attacks may also be run using the proper Dictionary tables and older WEP encryption can also be cracked using Packet capturing.

What is Special about it? While normal frequency jammers jam an entire range of the frequencies, our project can selectively jam singular Wi-Fi networks as well as carry out a plethora of wireless attacks based on packet-capturing and injection. Furthermore it enables cracking of the password of one's WiFi networks using brute force dictionary based attack.

Where it can be applied?   

In Defense Systems , Enabling Jamming Of Routers & Other Wi-Fi Adapters For Brute Force Dictionary Based Password Attacks Mainly Aimed At Cracking Passwords Of Wireless Networks As A Simple Network Analyzer , For Observing Amount Of Traffic Over A Wi-Fi Network
