Oakleigh Steering Group: Observer Status The Steering Group comprises representatives of the community, Council Officers and Officers of the development company (TANDO). The primary function of the group is to represent the views of the community in taking the project forward. Information about the redevelopment is disseminated to local residents via newsletters and public meetings. However Members of the Steering Group have agreed that local residents may attend Steering Group meetings as Observers in order to make the whole process open and transparent to all, subject to some rules. Observer Status Rules 1. Local residents may observe meetings, but may not speak or contribute to the discussion. Any personal concerns/ queries should be raised through a Member of the Steering Group. 2. Anyone wishing to attend a meeting as an Observer should advise a Member of the Steering Group of their wish to attend no less than 5 working days in advance of the meeting. This is to ensure that the room used for the meeting is large enough to accommodate everyone. 3. Anyone turning up without previously contacting a Member may be refused entry at the Chair’s discretion. 4. Observers will be seated away from the main meeting table. 5. Observers attempting to address the meeting will be asked to leave and may be excluded from future meetings at the Chair’s discretion. 6. Should there be a need to discuss anything confidential observers may be asked to temporarily leave the meeting. 7. Observers providing an Email address will be sent a copy of the Minutes of the meeting they observe. 8. Copies of Minutes are routinely available on the xyz website,
