Oath for Engineers I swear by Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Niels Bohr and Bose, and I take to witness all those who related to science and engineering, to hold to my abilities and judgement, the following oath: To hold my teachers who have bestowed me with this knowledge next only to my parents and share my knowledge with them; to never talk about them with a bad mouth and to never hide any part of my knowledge from anyone, rich or poor, and to spread my knowledge of subject to all those who desire to learn it-without fee and covenant. I vow to practice the profession of engineering with conscience and dignity and I will be generous to its members. I will not permit considerations of religion, nationality, race, party politics, or social standing to intervene between my duty and my work. I will lead my life and practice my profession in uprightness and honour and always persevere to bring glory to it I will try and provide assistance to mankind to lead its lives in ease and harmony, none of my practices will harm any living thing knowingly. I will exercise my profession solely for the benefit of humanity and perform no act for a criminal purpose. The projects I shall undertake shall be for the good of mankind to the utmost of my power. I will keep far away from wrong, from corruption, and from tempting others to vicious practice. I will speak out against wrong and unjust practice wherever I encounter it. Even under threat, I will not use my professional knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity. I will endeavour to avoid waste and the consumption of non-renewable resources. I make these promises solemnly, freely, and upon my honour.
