Location: behind Mudd Library and the Facilities Building!

There are... 8 wheels, 2 kilns, 1 slab roller, 1 clay mixer, and many glazes!

Kilns! We have 1 electric kiln and 1 gas kiln! Gas kiln is outside in the shed next to the co-op. It is a high fire kiln - the gas kiln glazes fire to cone 10 (really hot btw 2200 and 2300 degrees F) The gas kiln loading process is much longer and requires much more preparation loading the kiln takes one day, firing takes one day, and cool down takes at least another 2 days. Your help is always needed and encouraged if you want your pieces to be fired in the gas kiln! Electric kiln is inside the co-op. This is the kiln we use to bisque every piece of pottery that is made! We also use this kiln to fire pieces that are glazed with the low fire electric glazes - cone 5/6

Open to all students and community members $30 semester fee with full access to the studio and added to email list-serve Need a sticker on your ID - this lets you take out the key from Wilder Desk if the co-op is ever locked Dedicate 4-5 co-op hours which can be fulfilled through cleaning shifts and helping to load the electric and/or gas kiln and helping to make clay for the co-op - expect emails throughout the semester for opportunities to fulfill these hours! Every member must sign up to do a 2 hour cleaning shift when they renew their membership! The co-op can get very dirty very quickly, and we want to minimize the amount of clay dust in the air as much as possible.

What now? -

New members! If you have little to no experience using the co-op, we ask that you do not pay your membership now but instead attend of the orientation times we have scheduled over the next week. Orientations will take place at the co-op. You’ll get a tour of the co-op and learn how to operate in the space and the proper ways to clean up. Returning members! If you have been a member of the co-op before and are comfortable with how to use and clean the space, you can renew membership now, at any of the orientation times, or during office hours.

General Office Hours Spring 2018 Office hours are a perfect time to get one on one instruction from one of the members of the leadership team! Monday - 7-9:30pm

Sunday 2/18 - 1:30-2:30pm

Wednesday - 1:30-3:30pm, 7-9pm

Monday 2/19 - 1-2pm

Thursday - 1-3pm

Tuesday 2/20 - 3-4pm, 7-8pm Wednesday 2/21 - 7-8pm
