Wow, a lot is going on. Next is a day rally on November 5 at the 11th Annual Vintage Apple festival. Jean is hosting the Christmas Luncheon on December 3. Call Jean if you are coming. We have at least 5 Rallies in the planning stages for 2012: Break Out Rally in April, Tom and Dorothy the host; Region 3 Rally in April at Myrtle Beach; International Rally in June at Sedalia, Mo; Mary working on a rally on the Eastern Shore at Chincoteague; Bill and Dot putting together a Fall Rally to Lancaster, Pa; and Chip and Karen are working on plans for a Mystery Caravan/Rally. All details to be announced as the dates and arrangements are finalized. Hope I didn't miss one. Thanks to Tom and Dorothy for hosting the rally at Loft Mountain. There was great food, great weather and great fellowship. I hope we make it an annual event. Next year's Commonwealth Rally new dates are September 13th -16th. Don't forget your dues for next year if you haven't already paid. We need a volunteer to reshape and update our web site. Dot needs to know if you are going to the Region 3 Rally and want to camp all together. She needs this information by January. Phil

Prophetic Phil A full 2 weeks before the actual event, Phil donned the proper pull-over to go along with his hat.

{ ed. There is some discussion that this picture has been Photoshopped to emphasize the influence of the Texas Rangers. I am looking into these allegations. }

Highlights of Unit Meeting Minutes: Discussed future rallies: November- Annual Apple Harvest December- Christmas Banquet Additional information is presented in the next section of this newsletter. January- February- March months are open if someone wants to host a dinner or something

Possible Rally options: Tom asked for interest in a breakout rally in April at Pocahontas State Park prior to Region 3. Bill and Dot - seeking interest in a rally at Lancaster, Pa in the fall Mary - seeking interest in a rally on the Eastern Shore in August Chip - seeking interest in a "Mystery Caravan" that would run Thursday to Monday. President Phil shared an email from Bob, president of the Virginia Unit seeking support in asking the Tidewater unit to change the date of 2012 Commonwealth Rally because it came in conflict with the 50th Anniversary of the Swiss Festival Rally in Ohio. Ray made a motion to decline this request and leave it to the host unit to decide the dates. Tom seconded the motion and the motion was passed. Tom shared the information about expenses for this rally. Jean made a motion to set the rally fee for this rally. It was seconded and passed. This invoked a discussion of past business meetings where the unit rally fee was increased. The question was if this was a cap or would every one pay the full amount and the excess would go into the unit treasury. After some discussion, Ray made a motion that the rally expenses would be divided among the attendees with noted amount person being a cap. The motion was properly seconded and the motion was passed by the group.

The clerk told me they just had a caravan of 16 Airstreams visit. The trip will be August 2012, I'm thinking the 2nd weekend of August. Give me feedback. We will be there from Thursday August 9, leave Sunday August 12th. The extra day is worth it due to the drive. Any thoughts or questions? Thanks, Mary [email protected]
