OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS Mark Mahoney Director The City of Springfield Office of Public Works has announced that starting Monday, August 22, the following streets will be under construction to remove and replace portions of curb and gutter, sidewalks and accessible ramps:

Canedy St (MacArthur-Walnut) Livingston (Poplar-Cook) Old Jacksonville Rd (Monroe-Oakmont, north side) Scarritt St (Spring-5th) Sherwood Estates Subdivision

Construction is anticipated to last up to one month, weather permitting. Also beginning August 22, the following street will be under construction in preparation for resurfacing of the roadways:



MacArthur Blvd (S Grand-Jefferson)

This work is anticipated to last up to two weeks, weather permitting. Also beginning August 22, the following streets will be under construction for patching of the concrete roadways:

Great Northern Av Iles Av (W White Oaks-Veterans) W White Oaks Dr (Robbins-Iles)

This work is anticipated to last up to two weeks, weather permitting. Also beginning August 22, the following streets will be under construction to rehabilitate the brick pavement and to remove and replace portions of curb and gutter:

Chenery St (Walnut-Henrietta) Williams St (Walnut-Henrietta)

This work is anticipated to last up to one month, weather permitting. Work continues on the following street to rehabilitate the brick pavement and to remove and replace portions of curb and gutter:



Broad Place (4th-6th)

For the above roadways, bricks and old patches will be removed, the existing concrete base will be replaced and graded, and a brick surface will be reinstalled. Bituminous patching and pavement leveling in preparation for seal coat continues on various “oil & chip” roadways within the City. This work is anticipated to last up to three weeks, weather permitting. For all construction projects, motorists are encouraged to slow down and be aware of workers and 300 S.
