Valparaiso University alumnus and his wife wished to honor each of their five children with a gift of a major Old Master work of art. They meant the gift to be a lasting expression of their faith as well as of their love for their children. They acquired their first piece 20 years ago as the result of a serendipitous encounter with Stanley and Ursula Johnson of the R. S. Johnson Fine Art Gallery in Chicago. The Johnsons graciously spent several hours educating them on the fine points of fine art, giving them a much greater appreciation of what they were viewing. All of these pieces were ultimately purchased from R. S. Johnson. The couple shares these inspiring artworks for the enjoyment of those in the Valpo community and to encourage others who may wish to share their own collections with students and alumni.
