El intérprete de Dios es la primera biografía de Oliver Cromwell, escrita originalmente en castellano, que aúna las dos interpretaciones históricas, diametralmente opuestas, de la vida del político y militar inglés. El autor consigue plasmar, por una parte, aquellos datos biográficos de la figura del personaje que se desprenden de la leyenda negra forjada por los biógrafos anteriores a la época victoriana, fuertemente anticromwellianos; y, por otra parte, los procedentes de biografías posteriores que ofrecen una visión totalmente opuesta y que son favorecedores al personaje. Esta biografía es resultado de años de estudio, investigación y análisis de obras de historiadores expertos en la materia como Samuel Rawson Gardiner (History of the English Civil War); Christopher Hill (God´s Englishman) o Charles Firth (Oliver Cromwell and the Rule of the Puritans in England); asimismo de las recientes biografías de Peter Gaunt (Oliver Cromwell), Ivan Roots ( The Great Rebellion, 16421660), John Morril (Oliver Cromwell and the English Revolution); y, muy especialmente, de los estudios e investigaciones del eminente profesor de Oxford University, Blair Worden (The English Civil Wars).
