Anna Allanbrook Q&A with parents: Children are really looked at by their attendance, behavior and how they approach learning . Middles schools are looking for a diverse group of children; all kinds of learners. If a child has missed 15 days of school, or is late more than 25 times, this will affect their consideration. If there’s an interview, h ow a child behaves and works with others in a group—they are watching. Middle school interviewers sometimes want to see how children interact with each other. We had a very diverse group admitted to Math and Science last year. Some of our children with low test scores did get in. Some of our children with high test scores did not get in. I believe principals of all middle schools want BNS kids. I’ve talked with them, I’ve asked them, and this is what they tell me.
We find BNS IEP students have no trouble getting spots in middle schools.
