R&D Trends in Technology and Sustainable Innovation July 30. 2016 SUMMARY
Research and Development at PSIT Kanpur organized a One Day Seminar on “R&D Trends in Technology and Sustainable Innovation” on 30.07.2016. The seminar started with Lighting of Lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. Vivek M. Wasekar, Director - R&D, PSIT welcomed the gathering and introduced seminar to the participants. Chief Guest Mr. Haresh K. Sippy, Chairman and Managing Director, TEMA India Ltd., enlightened the audience with his leadership and experience in heat exchangers and heat transfer. He presented his patent and illustrated how the students should conduct R&D.
Dr. K. Subramanian, Executive Director, Powergear Ltd. emphasized on fundamental approach to research and development. In his keynote lecture, he provided in-depth knowledge about MEMS and building innovative business ideas.
In the panel discussion, Dr. Subramanian of Powergear Ltd., Dr. Dalela of C-DOT and Directors Dr. Reddy and Dr. Wasekar of PSIT participated. Students were encouraged to discuss their business and research ideas and also were asked to build entrepreneurship skills through panel interaction. Around 20 to 25 students out of gathering of around 150 to 200 took advantage of this opportunity and expressed themselves. The audience experienced high level of industry rich learning. Delegates from other institutes and industry in Kanpur were also present.
In the end, Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari of PSIT presented Vote of Thanks speech thanking speakers and participants along with organizing committee for making this seminar successful.
