There will be a “Dress-A-Goat” contest as a fun activity. All will receive participation award with special awards for most creative, best fitting, and most coordinated costumes (exhibitors and goats). Both junior and open classes are eligible. st

No animal can be brought to the fair unless they are registered in a class. The Goat Show will be held on Friday at 11:00 am. Open Class is judged with the Junior Class. The Pack and Cart Goat Divisions will be held on Saturday. •























All animals must be checked in no earlier than 8:00 a.m. (unless arrangements are made with superintendent prior to entry day) and no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday of fair week. All animals must be checked in by superintendent or designated person(s) prior to being unloaded and placed in their pen(s). Pens will be assigned and labeled with the group or club name. Pens will be determined by the entries. Animals are not to leave the fairgrounds after being checked in until release time on the last day of the fair. Bedding and feed are not provided, add these items to your “bring to the fair” list. Feeding ,watering and/or milking are the responsibility of the exhibitor. See “Goats” under the Animal Health Rules and Regulations section of the fair book. Any signs of infectious diseases or “ripe” abscesses will warrant expulsion from the fair grounds. Scrapies identification and documentation. Either ear tags or tattoos, are required. Tattoos must be registered with the USDA and a copy of a letter of confirmation must be sent along with fair entry and should be with you at check in. A copy of your Scrapies ID papers must be sent along with your fair entries. No more than two entries per class number. Only one entry will be paid a premium per exhibitor. No more than one premium will be paid on an individual animal unless it is a part of a group class. For example, an animal cannot be shown in a pet division and a market division. The same animal cannot be shown in the Open Division and the Junior Division even if it is shown by two different exhibitors. The age requirement for exhibiting in Open rd Class is the same as 4-H requirement – 3 grade and above. All animals shall be owned by the exhibitor. The only exception to this is the group classes, and at least one needs to be owned by the exhibitor.

May be either females or wethers intended solely for market or as a protein source for home use. Use the appropriate divisions above for animals intended as pet or breeding stock animals. All market goats must have no more than one adult tooth (approximately 15 months or younger). Weight is determined on Thursday of fair week. Estimate weight when filling out your entries, error on the light side if your estimate is near the break-off point.
