Tournament Rules 1. First Rule of Friendly Fire The first rule of Friendly fire is that it isn’t. However, this tournament is about friendly engagement of plastic and metal toy soldiers on a tabletop. Try to agree with your opponent any issues in a friendly manner. If called the Rear Echelon (the Judges/referees for the day) will make a judgement and respond to rules queries if required to do so. Their decision is final. Please respect this. Respect your force, respect your opponent, make new friends and have fun.

2. Force Selection 2.1.

You have a maximum of 1,000 Requisition Points* with which to build your army.

2.2.

Your army can have up to a maximum of up to two Reinforced Platoons.

2.3.

Each platoon must be formed according to the generic reinforced platoon selector (see page 124 of the BA rulebook). The platoons in your army may be selected from any one of the following supplement books:

2.4.

Armies of Germany.

Armies of United States.

Armies of Great Britain.

Armies of the Soviet Union.

Armies of Imperial Japan.

Armies of France and the Allies.

Armies of Italy and the Axis.

The use of theatre selectors in this tournament is not permitted. Selections must be from the generic selector. This will be reviewed and revised for future tournaments once players have debriefed after this tournament.

2.5.

No platoon selections may come from anywhere else other than the books mentioned above. There are extra units on pdf on the Warlord site – you may not use these resources.

2.6.

The latest FAQ and Errata will be in force on the day.

2.7.

Whilst it is also lovely to see fully painted armies on the battlefield, it is not necessary. Your models do not have to be painted. This is about having a fun time playing games. Though don’t be disappointed if you don’t win best painted army.

3. Army List You must write down clearly the army list you are going to use for the duration of the entire tournament. If it helps you when building your army, an easy to use and free online army builder is Bolt Action Easy Army (http://boltaction.easyarmy.com). It lets you save your list as a PDF which makes it easier to email your list to [email protected]. While every effort will be made by the Rear Echelon to scrutinize your army list I advance of the game and provide feedback if something is amiss, it is still your own responsibility to ensure your list is present and correct. The force list is public and your opponent can always look at it and ask you questions about your army. Just as you may to theirs.

4. Match-Ups Your match-up for Engagement 1 will be random. In the following Engagements you will be matched using Tournament Points (TP) and Casualty points, as explained below.

5. Scenarios The following scenarios will be played, as described in the BA rulebook, on table with terrain that has been pre-set by the organisers. The game will begin on time as described in the Plan of Operations. Engagement One: Maximum Attrition You have been given your orders. Engage the enemy and inflict maximum damage to their forces. Engagement Two: Envelopment You will either be given orders to engage with a pocket of fierce resistance in order to cut them off from their supply chain or pin the enemy forces down as they try to sneak around your lines to cause maximum havoc on your allies. Engagement Three: Demolition The enemy HQ has been located. Move forward and engage. Capture it and you will be home by Christmas. But beware Intelligence has learned they also know where your HQ is located.

IMPORTANT! Please remember to agree with your opponent what is soft cover, hard cover, types of buildings/ruins etc before you begin.

6. Engaging the Enemy After two hours of gameplay, you and your opponent will finish the current turn, and then the game ends automatically.

6|Page

7. Tournament Points (TP) Victory is calculated as described in the Scenarios being played and Tournament points are awarded for victories, defeats and draws as shown below:

Result

Tournament Points

Victory Draw Loss

3 TP 1 TP 0 TP

In addition, you must also record how many Casualty points you gain during the game Casualty points are equal to the total Requisition Points of each enemy unit you destroy during the game. If you destroy a Unit worth 105 Requisition Points, you gain 105 Casualty points To gain casualty points the whole unit must be destroyed. Casualty points are always added together in a running total and are used as a tiebreaker. From the second round, you will be paired using a Swiss system (i.e. matching players on the same amount of TPs, in descending order). In case of more than two players on the same number of Tournament Points, players will be matched in descending ‘Casualty points’ total. If they have the same Tournament Points and Casualty points total, players will be paired in alphabetic order. When two players that have already met in a previous turn are matched to play each other again, they must randomly select opponents from the players on the next table down.

8. Winning the Tournament The winner is determined at the end of the last round, according to the following criteria: 

The player with the most Tournament Points will be the winner.

In case of same Tournament Points at the top, the winner will be the player with the highest Casualty Points total.

In case of same Tournament Points and same Casualty Points total, if the players have played each other during the course of the tournament, the Tournament winner will be the winner of that match. If the players never met in the tournament, the it is a joint victory and the players share the first prize.

9. Prizes There will be prizes for First, Second and Third place, Most Sporting, Best Painted and The Wooden Spoon. 7|Page

Terms & Conditions The organisers will make the tournament hall as secure as reasonably possible to reduce any risk. However, Lisburn gaming Club nor Wee Gamers will not be liable for any disappearance of or any damage to your models. Please be aware of other people’s miniature collections as well as making sure you protect your own. We may have emergency Miniature First Aid kits (super glue) on hand but in limited supply. You may wish to bring some just in case.
