OPERATIONS MANAGER – CONTAINER DIVISION The Role The Port of Felixstowe is one of the largest deep-water ports in the UK and to support our continued development we are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join our Container Division. We are looking for dynamic leaders who can work in a continuously changing environment with excellent operational skills. You will be leading a team and will play a fundamental part in delivering customer and organisation wide requirements. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will manage your team to execute the operational plan in accordance with business requirements. This role works a 24 hr/7 day shift pattern.
Key Accountabilities
Manage a team of up to 10 direct reports who in turn supervise up to 150 operatives Lead and inspire your team to maximise customer service and delivery of the operational plan Drive utilisation and performance to ensure the most cost-effective use of resources Set, communicate and review targets for team members and manage performance identifying gaps for development Ensure operations are performed in accordance with all Health & Safety procedures.

Who are we looking for? Suitable applicants will have:
Significant experience of working in an operational management role with a unionised workforce Proven track record of delivering operational plans in line with targets Educated to Degree level, or with demonstrable experience as an Operational Manager within this industry. Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to lead a team in an ever changing environment.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have a good understanding of port operations and an IOSH Managing Safely Qualification.
