Outlook on Android 1. Open the default mail app on your Android device. If this the first account you have added, you will be presented with the Email Accounts page. If you already have an account on your device, you will need to click through the settings to add a new account. You will also need to first delete your FirstClass account off your device if you had previously been syncing it.

2. Enter in your email address and password. Click Next. 3. Choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync as the account type.

4. If everything was entered in correctly, it should auto configure the server settings for you. If that is the case, you will see a pop up warning you that Exchange needs to be able to control some security features on your device. Exchange has the ability to force certain security features on users who wish to access their email remotely on a portable device, such as forcing a password on the lock screen or remotely wiping the device after a certain number of failed login attempts. Do not worry. We are not enforcing any of these policies. However, the warning still pops up regardless. Simply press the OK button to continue with setup.

5. If there was a problem with auto configuration, you will have to manually enter in the server information. The email server is email.hayscisd.net. Make sure you check to use SSL and put the domain, hayscisd, in front of your username, followed by a backslash.

6. You should then be presented with the account options page. You can choose how far back you want to sync emails and calendar items as well as if you want to sync large attachments. Leave the sync and peak schedule set to push to automatically receive messages on your device as they arrive in your Exchange mailbox.

7. Continue scrolling down the page to choose what types of items you want to sync to your phone. For example, if you don’t want to mix your work and personal contacts, uncheck the box for contacts. Once you are satisfied, click Next.

8. You will then see a screen asking you for permission for Exchange to access and control some features on your device. This is similar to the previous prompt. This screen lists all the possible things Exchange could control, however, we are not enforcing any rules that will allow us to control anything on your device. Simply click Activate to continue.

9. The last screen asks you to name the account on your device. Enter in a name that makes sense to you and click Done.

10. If everything worked correctly, you should be taken to your inbox and messages will start showing up. Also check your calendar to make sure appointments are showing up there.
