Sunday at the Farm – Wine and chocolate tasting in Barberino

Day 3

Monday: Painting in Certaldo alto

Breakfast Instruction in studio at Villa Leave for Certaldo alto. Painting in Certaldo alto. This traffic free town atop a hill still retains its authenticity as a true medieval settlement and offers beautiful vistas. Cafés for cappuccinos, a wine shop, artisans and the museum of Giovanni Boccaccio will offer plenty to do. Lunch on own in one of the nice little coffee shops or restaurants in Certaldo alto. Return to Villa, free time to relax or paint. Optional cooking lesson with chef Patrizia. Dinner at Villa

Day 4

Tuesday: Painting in Siena

Breakfast Day trip to Siena. Siena’s medieval centre bristles with majestic buildings. Its profusion of churches and small museums harbor a wealth of artwork, but your day can also be filled by simply wandering the bustling lanes of the historic centre, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Day 5

Wednesday: Painting at Villa and visiting La Meridiana

Breakfast Instruction/demo at Villa Painting at Villa Lunch on own Leave for La Meridiana an internationally recognised center for modern ceramics. www.lameridiana.fi.it Painting on site. Meet ceramic artists while enjoying an aperitif on the sunset terrace, then on to the nearby country trattoria Wilma. Dinner, tasting the true Florentine specialty, Bistecca alla fiorentina, a flavourful version of tagliata. Vegetarians will be happy with the grilled vegetables.

Thursday: San Gimignano with street market

Gimignano, an essential feature of any visit to central Tuscany, not only on account of its remarkable towers but also the fabulous frescoes and other art works to be seen here. Day 7

Friday: Painting at the Villa, wrap-up and final dinner

Breakfast Painting at the Villa, or horseback riding at Mugnano riding club, or hiking Lunch Final sketchbook review and wrap up. Packing for shipping. For the final evening, a panoramic ride with stops for beautiful vistas will take us to the medieval hamlet of Barberino where Danila, passionate owner of Enoteca di Baccio will introduce us to the prize-winning organic wines of La Spinosa.
