Reading Program
Dear Parents/Guardians ~ We are so excited to introduce our 2016 Reading Incentive Program: Reading is My Super Power! Our Reading Incentive Program will run from Monday, April 18, 2016 through Sunday, May 15, 2016. Students have the chance to earn entry into a drawing for a $25 Powell’s Gift Card. This is how the program will work: Students track their reading minutes on a weekly record. The reading records are on the back of this sheet. th th th Students in 6 , 7 , and 8 grade should read 45 minutes each day. Extra reading time can be listed next to the corresponding date box, so I can congratulate them on their commitment to reading, but should not be used to work ahead for the following day, as the goal is to encourage daily reading. When all boxes have been marked (dated, x out, colored in, or whatever method you decide to use) and the record is signed by a parent/caregiver, the reading record is turned in to their classroom teacher or directly to the library. The program will run for a total of four weeks. 6,7,8th grade will turn in their reading records on May 16, 2016. Students will receive one entry into the drawing for a $25 Powell’s Gift Card for every 7 days they read 45 min or more. There is the potential to earn 4 entries into the drawing!
