A great grammar book for learning Italian By GiacomoGrasso I bought PARLIAMO ITALIANO to use in an Italian language class. This textbook had been chosen by the teacher, a native Italian speaker. We all have different learning styles so who knows if this book will be useful to you but it really struck a chord with me. Having lived for 3 years in Italy, I wanted a thorough review of grammar and this book did not disappoint. There are great vocabulary lists in every chapter with words that are essential to know (yes, you just have to memorize some things!) The dialogues and the exercises are very helpful. I really liked the section called "In altre parole" which gives a short list of common expressions. You hear these expressions often in Italy but you can't translate most of them literally. I found myself saying many times, "Oh...so that's what that means." There are also many interesting, up-to-date articles written in Italian that describe everyday life. I have moved on to a higher level class now but I find myself going back to this text often to review. It's pricey but I got a used copy in mint condition. If you're serious about learning Italian, this is a book worth your investment. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
